Present:

  • Mark McCracken, Justice of the Peace and supervisor from Manchester Township, President of the board
  • John Porter, Esquire, Justice of the Peace and supervisor from Lawrenceburg Township
  • James Tervis, Esquire, Justice of the Peace and Supervisor from Randolph Township
  • William Brundage, Esquire, Justice of the Peace and supervisor from Logan Township

John Porter – elected President of the Board of County Supervisors for one year

George Weaver – license to keep a Tavern or public House of entertainment

No. 1 – Allowed to John Kelso for his services as chain carrier in viewing a state road leading from Lawrenceburg to Brooksville,

No. 2 – Allowed to Samuel C. Vance for his services in laying out and surveying a road,

No. 3 – Allowed to William Caldwell for his services 3 days in laying out a road

No. 5 – Allowed to Elijah Walden for boarding and keeping Araminta Keith a pauper

No. 6 – Allowed to Vincent Crussenberry for his services in keeping and boarding Rebeccah Crusenberry, a pauper

John Myers – License to keep a Tavern or public house of entertainment at Wilmington

Omar Toussey – License to retail or vend foreign merchandise at his store in Lawrenceburg

Davis Weaver, Esquire, Justice of the Peace and supervisor for Laughery Township – certificate of his election as supervisor of Laughery Township for 1826, took oath of office

No. 7 – Allowed to Spencer & Cully for printing blank county orders

No. 8 – Allowed to John Blue for boarding and keeping David Wright, a pauper

John Spencer – appointed collector of Dearborn County for 1826, filed his bond with John Dawson and Ezekiel Jackson as securities

Samuel C. Vance, William V. Cheek and William Caldwell – commissioners appointed at November Session 1825 to view, lay out and mark a public road leading from Lawrenceburg to Versailles, Ripley County – report – establish a road near Peter Hennigin’s running in easterly direction to intersect road running up North Hogan nearly opposite to Henry Burres

Ferry granted to John Walker across Laughery Creek at Harford having been transferred to Lawrence & Harpham, License to Lawrence & Harpham to keep a Ferry

James Darragh – License to retail or vend foreign merchandise in Lawrenceburg

John Arnold – License to retail or vend foreign merchandise at Aurora

The following ferries shall pay the following Taxes to the county for the year 1826:

  • On Samuel C. Vance’s ferry across the Ohio – $4.00
  • On the Aurora association Ferry across the Ohio – $2.50
  • On the Aurora association Ferry across Hogan’s Creek – $5.00
  • On George Weaver’s Ferry across Tanner’s Creek – $4.00
  • On Isaac Dunn’s Ferry across Tanner’s Creek – $5.00
  • On Martin Cozine’s Ferry across Hogan’s Creek – $3.00
  • On Ezekiel H. Loring’s ferry across the Ohio river – $4.00
  • On Lawrence & Harpham’s ferry across Laughery Creek – $2.50

Wright & Peck – License to retail or vend foreign merchandise at Aurora

No. 10 – Allowed to Caleb Woodworth for making a coffin for a drowned lady, $2.00

No. 11 – Allowed to Wilcox & Whitton for digging a grave for a drowned lady – $0.75

Samuel S. Scott – License to keep a Tavern or public House of entertainment

David Bowers, Jonathan Harpham & David Blue – overseers of the poor of Laughery Township filed a certificate of their having sold Davis Wright, a pauper, to Peter Johnson.

No. 13 – Allowed to Daniel Conaway for his services in boarding Abraham Peters, a pauper

James Walker – appointed Trustee of Public Seminary Funds for the county for 3 years

No. 14 – Allowed to Jonathan Harpham for his services as overseer of the poor of Laughrey Township in 1824

No. 15 – Allowed to Daniel Lynn for his services as overseer of the poor for Laughery Township in 1824

No. 16 – Allowed to Thomas Shaw for flour furnished Francis Davis, a pauper

No. 17 – Allowed to Jacob Hyes for Sundry clothing furnished Sullivan, a pauper

No. 18 – Allowed to Andrew Morgan for wood furnished Francis Davis, a pauper

No. 19 – Allowed to Edmond Cornelius, a pauper, for rent of a House one month
