LAWRENCEBURGH. The county seat of Dearborn county, is a thrifty manufacturing city of 5,000 inhabitants, located on the Ohio river, O & M and C I St L & C Rys, 26 miles from Cincinnati and 89 from Indianapolis. Lawrenceburgh is a well-built city, supplied with gas works, 8 churches, 3 graded schools, 1 bank, 7 hotels and 2 weekly newspapers—Register and Press. The bonded debt of the city amounts $68,000. This is a very important manufacturing center. Prominent among its mills factories, etc., are 2 flour mills, 2 carriage factories, a planing mill, 4 large distilleries, 2 saw mills, 3 cooper shops, 3 furniture factories, a stove foundry, washing machine factory, brewery, hub and spoke factory, 2 brick yards, a wheel factory, coffin works and 1 chair factory.
