County Business.

The County Commissioners met last Monday and continued in session until Tuesday evening.

Thomas Armstrong, Trustee of York Township, and J. W. Love, Trustee of Posey Township, presented their final reports, which were found correct, accepted, and they discharged as Trustees.

The Board contracted with King Bridge Company, of Cleveland, Ohio, to repair bridges over Beaty’s Ford and Powell’s Ford. The abutments at Beaty’s Ford are to be raised two feet, and the iron work thoroughly repaired and the bridge made ready for travel at a total cost of $750. The bridge at Powell’s Ford to be raised four feet, thoroughly repaired and ready for travel at a total cost $1,510. Both bridges to be ready for travel by July 1, 1886.

In the matter of the petition of Nelson Carnine, John VanOsdol and others for bridge over Ogle’s Branch, at Edward Shull’s, on Vevay and Versailles turnpike road, the Board refused to grant the petition.

Wm. Carnine was given an order to the Superintendent of the Poor House for eight of the children there; the said Carnine is to feed, clothe and attend to sick children, and have them attend public schools, and to take good care of them physically and morally for $42.50 each per annum.

In the matter of the petition of Thomas Dyer, Walter S. Lock and others, for bridge over Indian Creek at Knox’s Ford—continued until next term.
