Switzerland County Commissioners’ Court – September 1870

County Commissioners.

Among other business transacted by the Commissioners last week, was the following:

Geo. M. Kyle, of Vevay, was granted a license to retail liquors.

In the matter of Christopher Waltz, for private road. Viewers reported $15 damages to Joseph Bosaw, and the road granted.

The Treasurer reported having received and paid County Orders amounting to $19,000.40, during the past three months.

Wm. Dalgleish and others petitioned for road in Pleasant Township. Case continued.

In the matter of Jordan Wainscott and others for change of road in Pleasant Township. Viewers reported and case continued until next term.

The case of Geo. Bramwell and others in York Township for change of road, was continued.

In the matter of Bela Herrick, and others, for change of road in Posey Township, Jas. Huston, Alfred Wade, and J. Vandorin were appointed viewers to report next term.

The Commissioners visited the Poor House for the purpose of inspecting it. They found the inmates comfortable, and the premises in good order.
