COUNTY BUSINESS.

W. O. Marble, C. D. Green and Geo. W. Sanders, County Commissioners, met Monday, Sept. 5th and adjourned last Thursday, 8th. The following is a synopsis of the business transacted:

Virgil Simpson, an insane person confined in county jail for his own protection, ordered removed to the County Asylum.

Harrold H. Cotton was given the appointment of scholarship at Purdue University.

Peter P. Lewis was appointed a Constable, to fill a vacancy, in Craig Township.

Edward Hawkins, a cripple, was exempt from payment of poll and road tax.

George S. Pleasants was employed County Attorney for one year, at $60.

The case of James M. Gaunt for establishment of Ferry from Lamb, Ind., to Carrollton, Ky., was dismissed.

William Tait, County Treasurer, presented county orders redeemed by him for the quarter ending August 31, amounting to $9,984.96. He also presented common school and congressional school warrants redeemed by him last quarter, amounting to $5,116.42. All of which were found correct.
