COUNTY BUSINESS.

The following is a synopsis of business transacted by the County Commissioners at their September term.

In the matter of claim of Mrs. Jennettee Scott Ryan, for $300, on account of change of highway leading from Jacksonville to a branch on Indian Creek—claim not allowed. R. B. Littlefield and Robert Bovard appointed viewers, with reference to amount of damage, to report at December term.

William Tait, County Treasurer, presented orders redeemed by him for the quarter ending Sept. 7th, amounting to $6,127.00. Found correct. He also presented school warrants redeemed by him during last quarter, as follows: Common school, $7.594.07; Congressional school warrants, $220. Found correct.

Daniel Trafelet, Benj. T. Heady and G. W. McKay were previously appointed to view a proposed change of highway from Mennett’s Branch to near Enoch Adams’, in Craig township. Sept. 9 the above viewers reported and recommended the change proposed. The Board ordered the road opened, 30 feet wide; so much of the old road as is effected by the change to be vacated.

The petition of Harvey W. Scranton and others, for bridge over Moredock’s Branch, was continued to next term.
