Dearborn County 1822 Land Notices

The following Dearborn County, Indiana land notices were published in Indiana newspapers in 1822. Dearborn County suffered a courthouse fire on 6 March 1826 that destroyed all records. See Dearborn County Reconstructed Records for more details.

PUBLIC NOTICE.

Whereas one Thomas Dugan has lately advertised for sale of SIX HUNDRED acres of land adjoining the town of Aurora, being part of section 29 and fractional section 27 and 28 in township No. 5, and range No. 1 west, of the meridian line drawn from the mouth of the Great Miami River, all persons are hereby cautioned against purchasing said tract of land, as a clear, legal, and equitable title exists to the half of said land in the person of Mary Leonard and Gabriel J. Floyd and Sarah his wife, formerly Sarah Conn.

Sheriff’s Sale

BY virtue of a writ of Venditiones exponas issues from the Clerks office of the Dearborn Circuit Court to me directed against the goods and chattels, lands and tenements of Elijah and John Hosley, in favor of Robert M’Kitrick, I shall expose to public sale on the 19th inst. at 12 o’clock on said day, at the court house door in Lawrenceburgh, one house and lot, known on the plan of the town of Aurora, as in lot No. 156. Also sixty acres of land more or less bounded as follows, to wit: being a part of section 31, South East quarter of Town 5 Range 1 West.

Sheriff’s Sale

NOTICE Is hereby given that I shall expose to sale at public vendue at the Court House door in Lawrenceburgh on Wednesday the 18th inst., at 12 o’clock; Inlots No. 5 and 60 in the town of Rising Sun, at the suit of John F. Keys administrator against Perez Dimmick, pursuant to an order of sale to me directed from the Clerk’s Office of Dearborn Circuit Court.

Sheriff’s Sale.

By virtue of a writ of fieri facias to me directed I have leivid a certain piece of land in the town of Lawrenceburgh, county of Dearborn, and state of Indiana, being part of the upper grass lot in said town lying opposite to In lots No. 159 and 160, and running from new street to the Ohio River and bounded on one side by the continuation of short street and on the other by the continuation of the south west line of lot No. 159 supposed to contain about one acre of land, seized and taken as the property of the Estate of Samuel Leonard deceased, which I shall expose to sale at the court house in the town of Lawrenceburgh on the 4th Monday of this present month at 10 o’clock A.M. on that day.
