The objects of this organization are purely political, and such orders as may be issued are only recommendations aiming to unite us in harmony of action to promote the interst of the good work for which we are enlisted,–the election of our Great Captain Ulysses S. We look to loyal citizens for the same sympathy and support that they gave us while we were in the field. Orders of organization will be issued forthwith.

Fighting Boys in Blue.

Preamble.

The undersigned honorably discharged soldiers and sailors of the Army and Navy, in the Union, having served our country during the War of the Rebellion, with all the zeal and fidelity of which we were capable, and believing that the American Nation was saved by loyal bayonets and bullets, aided by the patriot policy and effort of the Union Republican Party, which sustained us at the front, kept down treason at home, protected and relieved our families and dependent ones, and laid the plan for a victory and triumphant peace, and regarding that glorious party as still worthy of the confidence and support of every true and tried soldier in the land, do hereby agree to organize ourselves to be known and hailed as the FIGHTING BOYS IN BLUE.
